FRIENDS OF ANAHUAC REFUGE
Audubon Texas and the Friends of Anahuac Refuge want to invite you to participate in our next monthly bird survey at the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge on FM 1985!
Our next bird survey will be on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 9am to noon. We will meet at the Visitor Information Station (VIS) on the refuge property. Notice this is not the Visitors Center/USFWS offices, we will meet on the refuge property.
The Audubon Texas TERN training for foraging habitats is an excellent complement to these bird surveys, however the training is not required for participation! If you are a new birder or an expert birder, please consider coming out to enjoy the views, document birds seen, and collect data for refuge managers and Audubon Texas.
For those who plan to attend, come prepared with the following:
1. Bottle of water
2. Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
3. Long pants (for walking through tall grass)
4. Binoculars (a few extra pairs will be available)
5. Your favorite bird book or reference material
6. Bird survey form (printed forms available in the VIS)
We hope everyone is available to attend!
