Saturday, June 7
Time 9am-1pm
Anahuac NWR
The State of Texas encourages people to go outdoors and fish in Texas by designating the first Saturday of June every year as the only day in Texas where you can fish without a license. The refuge participates in this event by hosting an annual Family Fishing Day on the refuge. Bring the family out for fishing, crabbing, crafts, games, and prizes. Refuge staff and volunteers will be on hand to help folks new to fishing and answer questions about it and the refuge. The event is FREE and open to the public. NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED THIS DAY ONLY!
Check out our Fishing Day event page for more details.

The Friends sponsor the event by providing additional volunteers for activity booths, prizes, and providing snacks and drinks for sale. If you are interested in volunteering at the event, contact refuge Volunteer Coordinator Stephanie Martinez.
See you there!
