Kids Day on Buffalo Bayou 2015

  • 17 Oct 2015
  • 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Houston, Buffalo Bayou Park

A major component of the National Wildlife Refuge System's new vision is to increase urban outreach.  The refuge and the Friends have participated in this initiative by hosting a booth at the annual Kids Day at Buffalo Bayou in Houston.  The free event, hosted by the Buffalo Bayou Partnership, is located near downtown Houston and is attended by thousands of urbanites and suburban commuters.  This event is a tremendous opportunity for the Friends to reach out to a non-traditional population base and inform them about conservation and national wildlife refuges.  Volunteers will be needed to speak with event visitors and pass out information about refuges.

If you would like to volunteer at this event, please email refuge volunteer coordinator, Stephanie Martinez at 409-267-3337.
