  • Anahuac NWR (Visitor Center & Shoveler Pond)

Visit Anahuac NWR on Fridays in March for guided walks along the Lake Anahuac Boardwalk and Shoveler Pond. Bird walks at Shoveler Pond will occur at 10am at the refuge. Walks along the Lake Anahuac Boardwalk will occur at 2pm behind the refuge Visitor Center. No RSVP is required and the walks are free.

Walks are led by refuge volunteers knowledgeable of flora, fauna, and refuge management strategies. It is an excellent time to learn more about the refuge! Come on out!

The Friends of Anahuac Refuge was established in 1997 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Anahuac, TX.
